A silk beauty by all means, this midi length beauty by coveted Indian designer Ritu Kumar is a real super rare delight. She has a square neckline, billowing sleeves with fixed button cuffs, a full skirt and tie back belt. Her fabric is a fine and delicate tissue silk and she is lined. Her print is in such an unusual colour palette, with greens and rusty reds and blues, she has a bird like feature on her skirt and sleeves. This beauty is truly special.
This girl measures to approx UK size 6/8.
Bust - 33"
Waist - 27"
Length - 48"
Shoulder to shoulder - 14"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
Please have this beauty dry cleaned only. Sadly this girl does have some flaws but still is fully wearable and has plenty of life left to live. She seems to have fading / colour differences in places, a small sewn up mend in the back corner of her bodice and a couple of really small holes in her skirt, these could be professionally mended, they are very minor. She also has slight underarm discolouring, this may lift with professional cleaning. This has all been dramatically reflected in her price, see last photos for more. Without these flaws, she would have been listed at £350.
Please note all Indian Tissue Silk dresses carry signs of wear due to delicacy of the fabric and the dyes used. No item is ever perfect and will carry charm of its previous life, all main flaws will be noted.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements. Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
