The Charlotte Dress

Meet Charlotte in Harvest, she is our Autumn Edition of our Made by Pansy Charlotte dress! Charlotte is aptly named after our founder Beth's, Sister. It felt very fitting to give such a special dress, a very special name!

While Charlotte in Harvest is our Autumn version, we do truly believe she could easily transcend through seasons. Pair her with a knit and some tan boots throughout the colder months, and when the warm weather makes a return she would also look gorgeous with sandals too! We are really trying to create pieces which can transcend through seasons, and can be loved forever and ever..

Charlotte takes inspiration from several of our favourite vintage dresses, incorporating those vintage details we all love.. The prettiest puffy sleeves with frill elasticated cuffs.. Fabric covered buttons (which are also handmade in England!).. A super full swooshing skirt with flounce.. High waist.. Side ties... She truly has got it all!

She has a concealed zipper at her back and her button front closure is also working. She has attached size ties to cinch her high waist and a beautiful neckline which is also low at her back and she has ties across the back of her shoulders to keep her neckline secure.

She has been lovingly handcrafted in a gorgeous Oeko Tex standard cotton poplin with a soft cotton needlecord bodice. She has a soft autumnal colourway with shades of brown and a beautiful print filled with flowers and wheats. She has been crafted beautifully with a professional finish to truly replicate an original 1970s beauty.

Our Made by Pansy line is in VERY limited supply and once we have used a fabric, we may never be able to recreate her again. All dresses are MADE TO ORDER especially for you!

She can safely be washed on a short cool cycle at home and hung to dry. While Charlotte may not be a true vintage dress, she is just as precious, please treat her as such.

HOW TO ORDER!

When placing your order please choose your designated size from our size chart and add this into notes section when checking out. Charlotte is customisable in length. Please also add your desired length measurement in the notes section when checking out, either in Centimetres or Inches. A good way of knowing your ideal length is to check on a dress you already own. Simply measure from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem. If you forget to do this please email us with your order number and chosen size and length measurement!

Please allow approx 4-6 weeks for your beautiful dress to be made (although this could be a lot sooner). Once she is ready she will then be dispatched to you. This is SLOW fashion, please be patient while the magic is happening! If your beautiful dress is ready before the lead time, she will be shipped to you sooner! You will be charged for shipping at checkout, which will be express delivery for all UK orders and fully insured tracked delivery for all other worldwide orders.

Our Made by Pansy dresses are beautifully handcrafted by a small team of creators in England. This means our manufacture process is as sustainable as possible for our system, with fair pay, low carbon emissions, meanwhile boosting our local economy and industry by supporting fellow indie creatives. This also means we aren't mass producing garments and having wastage! YAY!

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6. Our sample is a UK size 12 and has been pinned to fit.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
