The Philomena Dress

The Philomena Dress, she is a stunning late 60s early 70s statement sleeve chiffon beauty by Serendipity. Her skirt is lined.

The Philomena Dress is a statement Heirloom dream.  she has the most amazing cut and just screams drama with those sleeves. Her sleeves are made of tiered ruffles and under the ruffles they are cuffed to fix them in shape on the arm. She has an unusual graphic print and stunning square neckline with lace details and a frill hem.

This girl is difficult to measure due to having a free bust but best fitting to approx UK 6/8 to a small 10.

Bust - Free

Under Bust - 30"

Length -  58.5"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6 and our model, the gorgeous Katie is a UK 6/8 and 5"6 in height.

The Philomena Dress has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. This girl is can be safely washed on a cool setting at home and drip dried. She is in good vintage condition, she has a small burn hole (probably from a party back in the day!) to one of her sleeves but this is in such a forgiving place as it is buried within the ruffles and therefore not noticeable, see last two photos for more.

She has minimal signs of vintage wear. But please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
