Meet Ayesha, she is a stunning and RARE late 60s early 70s Indian cotton block printed Kaftan by Ayesha Davar, whose designs of this period are some of the most coveted. This is a really special piece, and has been in my collection for a very long time, to be honest I wanted to keep her, but I do feel it is time she spread her wings! She has an amazing silhouette with kaftan sleeves, mandarin collar and button bodice which can also be worn open, she also has a dramatic swooping bohemian silhouette which hangs beautifully. Her colour is rich and warm, with a remarkable block print floral, and she absolutely is the dreamiest of all Indian cotton kaftans, I hope she heads to an incredible home..
This girl would work nicely on sizes up to a UK 12/14
Bust - up to 40"
Waist - FREE
Length - 59"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
The Ayesha has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a cool setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear, a small mark on her bodice area, this is very minor and does not detract. See last photo. This may actually be from when she was dyed.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
