The Holy Glitter Dreams, she is a stunning and rare lurex dream dress by fantastic evening wear designer of the time John Marks. She is lined.
Holy Glitter Dreams is PHENOMENAL and a really amazing example of a 70s lurex dress. Beauties this good really are very rare and hard to come by, probably because when someone purchased lurex, they were worn for many occasions and truly well worn and loved. This beauty has an amazing silhouette with huge sleeves, high neck and a full skirt which is absolutely made for twirling. Her bodice is embellished with sequins and this beauty really does sparkle so bright!
This girl would work on UK sizes 6/8 small 10.
Bust - 32" approx. Really hard to measure due to her armholes being low cut.
Waist - 30" - does sit quite high
Length - 60"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
Holy Glitter Dreams has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a cool setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a couple of small sewn up mends to one of her sleeves. This is so common with vintage lurex and is barely noticeable.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements. Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
