The Biba

Meet Biba, of course she is named Biba because she is officially my first ever Biba dress I am listing for sale! I am still quite stunned that I managed to source this beauty. Biba is the absolute pinnacle of  60s and 70s fashion history, and is probably the most iconic British brand of the time. This beauty is a really remarkable example and she has been dated from Biba's Spring Summer 1971 collection.

This beauty is midaxi in length and is beautifully crafted in cotton with a beautiful illustrative floral print. She has a beautiful silhouette with insane puff sleeves, an empire line waist and a scoop neckline with fabric covered button opening. She has a wonderful full tiered skirt and she truly is a joy to own and wear.

It pains me to part with such a gem, but I can only hope she heads to an incredible home.. it is such a rare opportunity to be able to purchase one of these dresses, and I feel honoured to be sharing a slice of history with you..

This girl measures to approx UK size 6/8 possibly small 10.

Bust - 33" - 34"

Empire Waist - 28"

Length -  50"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Biba has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Dry clean only. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
