Meet Boleyn, she is a beautiful and truly outstanding rare late 60s velvet dream dress by one of my favourite boutique labels of the time Quad. Boleyn is an absolute centrepiece of this years Heirlooms collection, she is so unique and truly rare. She has a very unusual colour, which is almost a very rich and dark browny burgundy shade with contrasting moire taffeta bodice and billowing sleeves. She has a totally wondrous silhouette, with open deep square neckline, poet sleeves and a high waist with long flowing skirt. She has sweet lace placements on her bodice and her sleeves which add a really beautiful touch. Honestly, Boleyn is the definition of a Pansy Heirloom, she quite simply has it all, I cannot wait to see her being loved in the next chapter of her life.
This girl would work on UK sizes 6/8 best.
Bust - up to 34"
Waist - 28" - does sit high
Length - 55"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
The Boleyn has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Dry Clean Only. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear, she has some signs of wear to her sleeves, but again this is very minor and does not detract, see last photo for an example. The outer lace panels on her bodice were added to repair some of the flaws on the bodice using true vintage cotton lace. I personally think they look stunning!
ALL vintage velvet comes with small signs of wear to the pile of the fabric. This is part of the charm.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
