The Bullerswood

Meet Bullerswood, she is a beautiful and truly spectacular 1970s velvet dream dress by Paula Lee. This really is a true treasure to behold and unlike any velvet beauty from our Heirlooms collection! Bullerswood has beautiful contrasting quilted panels at her neckline, lower skirt and shoulders and sweet velvet bow detailing at her chest. She has a smock like cut which is free flowing from the bust line down and also has gauzy cotton sleeves. She has a beautiful rich tone and such gorgeous fabric, she really is one beautiful Heirloom..

This girl would work on UK sizes 8/10 best. Could also work on a UK 6, or even a small 12 possibly.

Bust - up to 37"

Under Bust - 36"

Length -  52"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Bullerswood has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Dry Clean Only. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear. At some point in her life she has been adapted, and had panels added in the underarms of her sleeves and down the sides of her dress. To be honest, I didn't notice this when I sourced her, it isn't really too obvious, and when worn doesn't really show. See last photos for more. This has been reflected in her price.

ALL vintage velvet comes with small signs of wear to the pile of the fabric. This is part of the charm.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
