The Enchant

Meet Enchant, she is a stunning and RARE late 1960s early 1970s cotton cheesecloth dream dress, made in Israel. This is an absolute GEM and is a true piece of bohemian fashion history, perfectly capturing the hippie essence of the time. It was in this period that clothing began to be imported from the middle east, and gorgeously crafted items from other continents were all the rage. This is a perfect example, with an unusual cut, which wraps around at the sides and ties at the back, and when worn she slightly opens at the lower sides which is beautiful. She also has flutter sleeves, square neckline and is adorned in red piping with a screen printed motif. This is a RARE dress, and is one of those truly precious pieces which I know will not be found again. I hope she finds the best home today.

This girl would work on approx UK sizes 8/10/12 due to her flexible fit.

Bust - up to 40"

Waist -  up to 32" - Measured untied - can be drawn in with her tie back.

Length - 55.5"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Enchant has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a cool setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear. She has some light wear marks around the hem, nothing major to note.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
