The Heavens

Meet Heavens, she is a stunning and holy grail rare 1970s Gunne Sax dream dress. She is beautifully crafted from cotton and velvet, and is a really really special example of a Gunnie. It is so rare I ever have a Gunne Sax grace my rails, and I am so pleased to be sharing her with you today! She has a stunning silhouette with a Queen Anne neckline, corset bodice and a nipped in waist with a gorgeous full tiered skirt, she also has epic sleeves with beautiful deep cuffs. She has a gorgeous scattered floral print which contrasts beautifully with her blue velvet and super sweet lace detailing. Heavens truly is heaven in a dress, I hope she finds the best home.. These Gunnes are literal Holy Grail!

This girl would work on UK sizes 6/8 small 10 best.

Bust - up to 34" - could possibly go a little further with corset opened more.

Waist - 27/28" - can be tightened slightly or loosened due to the corset.

Length -  57"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Heavens has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Hand wash in cool water and drip dry. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear.

ALL vintage velvet comes with small signs of wear to the pile of the fabric. This is part of the charm.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
