There are no words which would be feasible to honour Josephine enough. She is one of the most precious and rare dresses we have ever had here at Pansy, and for good reason. This moss crepe dream is by collectible and coveted designer of the time Ann Reeves Boutique and truly is one of a kind, she dates from the Ossie Clark era. You will not find this dress again. She has a quilted bodice with novelty romantic lady print which is also mirrored in her cuffs and a sweet tie feature at one shoulder. I cannot wait to see where Josephine carries on her life.
This girl would work on UK sizes 6/8 small 10. Moss crepe is a beautiful fabric which does have some give.
Bust - up to 34"
Waist - up to 28"
Length - 55"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
Aurora is a dry clean only lady, do not attempt to wash at home. When we acquired her we were informed she had been cleaned before being stored away. She does have a few very faint age related patches of colour differentiation, which is to be expected with moss crepe. These could potentially be lifted with a fresh dry clean. I have attached two photos, but due to the nature of fabric, and how faint the patches are, you can barely see this. They do not detract at all, and with cream moss crepe, really are to be expected. This has been reflected in her price. In immaculate condition I would really struggle to price this piece, as she is so precious.
She is in good vintage overall condition, a few other minor signs of wear which are to be expected.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements. Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
