The Orchid

Meet Orchid, she is an absolutely gorgeous and SUPER RARE 1970s Laura Ashley Made in Wales cotton sundress in the most gorgeous dusky pink browny shade, YUM (this is my fave colour!). These Laura Ashley smock dresses are the best, they are so versatile! You could wear her on a hot day as is or pair with a blouse in the colder months, and worn either way she will look gorgeous. She has a full sweeping skirt with a fitted bust panel which has gorgeous pintucks and she also has pockets. Her print is the sweetest, and is such a classic 70s Laura Ashley floral. If Orchid fit me, she would absolutely not be up for sale, but alas here she is, and I really hope she heads to the best home today.

This girl is flexible in fit other than her bust, she would work on UK sizes 6/8/10 nicely, or a small busted 12.

Bust - 34"

Waist - FREE

Length -  56"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Orchid has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a cool setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear. ALL Laura Ashley Made in wales dresses come with small flaws in the fabric, due to the hand printing method used to create this marvellous fabric.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
