Meet Otello, she is a stunning and super special late 60s early 70s heavy blue cotton velvet cape and dress dream Opera set. Does Otello even need any words? I mean wow, what a special piece, and I have never had such an amazing set. She was made for her previous owner, and is a true one of a kind find. She has a long cape with arm holes and frog fastening at her collar, and her dress is stunning, with a square neckline, huge puff sleeves and an empire waist. She seriously is drama isn't she.. I love how you could wear this as an outfit, or mix and match. She is darkest navy in colour with a beautiful sheen, she truly is an Heirloom to behold, and realistically a bargain, many outfits in one set!
PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS A HEAVY ITEM WITH THE CAPE AND DRESS COMBINED. THIS MEANS POSTAGE IS MORE ON THIS PIECE, BUT FEAR NOT, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!
This girl measures to approx UK size 12, could also possibly work on a UK 10 or small 14. See measurements below.

Length - 57"
Length - 46"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
The Otello has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Dry Clean Only. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear, she does have a few marks here and there, due to the nature of her fabric I couldn't photograph these, but be reassured they are minor and do not detract.
ALL vintage velvet comes with small signs of wear to the pile of the fabric. This is part of the charm.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements. Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
