The Russet, she is an absolutely stunning Ossie Clark era rare Moss Crepe dream dress by Xenia Boutique.
Russet is a very very special girl. She is very reminiscent of Ossie Clark dresses and Xenia was known to use the same fabric supplier as Ossie during this time. She as a stunning low cut neckline, very similar to those of Ossie Clark, beautiful voluminous sleeves, attached side tie belt and a beautiful cut with draping around the back and front. Her bodice panel is gorgeous with a textured grid check pattern in a contrasting satin crepe style fabric.
Russet is very rare and is a really iconic piece of the dominant Ossie Clark era. What I love is how this is a more affordable version of an Ossie, which means you can look amazing and not be as fearful when wearing this beauty...
This girl is quite flexible in size due to her cut, would work on UK sizes 6/8/10 best, possibly also a 12 too.
Bust - up to 38"
Waist - up to 32" can be cinched right in with waist ties, which looks stunning and draped.
Length - 61"
For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.
Russet is a dry clean only lady, do not attempt to clean at home. Spot clean if needed, and then quickly dry with a hairdryer, not on a really hot setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a patch of fading down at her hem, but this really is not noticeable and it is extremely common to have flaws in moss crepe fabric, otherwise very good vintage condition, this has been reflected in her price.
This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.
Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements. Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
