The Slate

Say Hello to Slate, she is a SUPER SUPER RARE 1970s bohemian cotton cheesecloth prairie beauty in a gorgeous and refreshing crisp white, she is crafted beautifully. Slate is an absolute treasure to behold, these 1970s cheesecloth dresses rarely fall into my hands, and when they do they are always so treasured. This one is a particularly beautiful example, she is adorned in the most beautiful lace details, with a big crochet lace panel at her waist, lace detailing around her neckline and lace inserts into her sleeves. She has an amazing full swooping skirt with asymmetric cotton lace inserts around the full circumference, gorgeous handkerchief sleeves and gorgeous flattering fit open neckline. Slate really is a treasure to behold, I cannot express how rare and special these dresses are, they are so timeless and versatile too. I promise she will be your favourite hot weather dress forever and ever..

This girl measures to approx UK size 10 small waisted 12. Cheesecloth does have some give too.

Bust - 38"

Waist - 29"

Length -  59"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

The Slate has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed at home on a cool setting. She is in good vintage condition, she has a few minor signs of wear.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
