The Sweet Brier

Hello Sweet Brier, she is a rare and truly beautiful vintage early 1970s Laura Ashley Made in Wales dream. Like all Laura Ashley dresses this beauty is crafted beautifully with no expenses spared. She has a gorgeous silhouette with classic Laura Ashley super full skirt with flounce, scoop neckline, cropped puff sleeves with shirred cuffs and delicate cotton lace trims. Her cotton fabric is a stunning rosy brown shade with hand printed delicate pattern. She has attached side ties to cinch waist for fit. Sweet Brier is a true rare dream, finding Laura Ashley dresses in this colourway is rare and she is a true dress of a lifetime.

This girl would work on UK sizes 6/8/10 best.

Bust - up to 34"/35"

Waist - 29"/30" can be cinched with side ties.

Length -  57"

For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6.

Sweet Brier has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. She can safely be washed hand washed at home. She is in good vintage condition, like all Laura Ashley dresses, due to the hand printed technique of the fabric, she will have some slight misprints and soft colour differences. This comes with ALL Laura Ashley dresses, and truthfully it is one of the things that makes them so beautiful. This particular dress has a misprint on one sleeve, see last photo for more.

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
