The Wildflower

Wondrous Wildflower, the most magical silk dresses there ever was... this delicate delight is adorned with all those precious details we love to see. She is covered in the most beautiful hand painting with delicate lace trims. She has an unusual silhouette, she has a fixed waistband which is supposed to sit tight on the waist (I have pinned it to fit on the mannequin, so you can understand her true silhouette) with a blousey cut top which hangs over. Wearing a soft tie style belt would really help keep her waist in shape. She has beautiful sleeves with frill cuffs and a delicate high neck collar. She has a metal side zipper and button opening at her neckline. This beauty has an Italian tag, and truthfully I am unsure on exact age, all I do know is she is very precious and definitely is old. She is made from a silk chiffon and is lined.

This girl would work on UK size 10 best.

Bust - up to 36" 

Waist - 27" fixed

Length -  58" when hung on a hanger, but will be several inches shorter when worn, due to her waistband cinching when worn.

 For reference our mannequin, Norma, measures to a UK 6. 

Wildflower has been freshly laundered and is ready to wear. Please have this lady dry cleaned only. She is in good vintage condition, she does have some areas of wear which are absolutely to be expected with vintage silk like this, but nothing major to note. 

This beauty has minimal signs of vintage wear, but please bear in mind that our pieces are true vintage, they’ve been danced in and they have been lived in, so all of our garments will carry your usual signs of vintage wear. Anything that we think is outside of what would class as usual vintage wear, we will state.

Here at Pansy we know vintage sizes are very different from modern sizes, and we pride ourselves on offering accurate measurements with approximate modern UK sizing to ensure a your Pansy purchases will be a good fit.
Although we do offer approx modern sizing it is also very helpful if you know your own measurements. If you are unsure of these, an easy way of estimating them is measuring one of your own garments, that fits well, laid flat. Measure in inches, across from pit to pit, flat across the waist and double both of these measurements.  Our length measurements are mostly taken from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
